Chickadees are the kind of birds that when you think how can anything live out in this cold winter weather? you hear them "chica dee dee dee!" which always brings a smile to my face. Jason refers to them as the Hunter's Friend, as they will always be out while he sits all day in the deer stand. Chickadees are a plenty in Massachusetts as they should be being our state bird.
This image I painted from a photo that I took in Chester, MA. His background was more of a grey, but I got lost in the browns and the fluidity of the paint... all the while thinking about how much I love this lil bird.
Chica dee dee dee.
